There are two main vehicle ferries operating to North Stradbroke Island; the Minjerribah and the Big Red Cat. During busy times, Stradbroke Ferries uses additional vehicle ferry services, most of which do not have on board cafes.
Both the Minjerribah and the Big Red Cat offer licensed, air conditioned on board cafe services. Enjoy a coffee, beer or a light meal on your way to or from North Stradbroke Island. Extra services during busy times may not have an on board cafe service.
The crossing to North Stradbroke Island takes approximately 45 - 50 minutes. Make sure to arrive at the ferry terminal approximately 20 minutes prior to departure to allow time for boarding.
We recommend that you make a booking if you are planning to take a vehicle to North Stradbroke Island. The ferries can fill up, so it is best to make a booking before arriving at the terminal to avoid disappointment.
You are not required to make a booking if you are walking on as a passenger. Purchase tickets for the vehicle ferry at either of the Cleveland offices or at the Dunwich office. If the offices are closed, tickets can be purchased on board with cash or EFTPOS.
